With the design competition The forest in a room, FSC Italia wants to spread the use of the FSC trademark in a sector in which our country is amongst the worldwide leaders, furniture, with the aim of drawing the attention of the designers, of the industrial production and of the final consumer to the origin of raw wood. To this end, a distinguishing feature of the prizes for the winners is the chance for them to realize the prototype of their projects, following the manufacturing process together with the (FSC certified) company and agreeing with it any change and adaptation.
The forest in a room will be the leitmotiv of all the following editions, but every time designers will have to deal with different themes.

ABOUT FSC
The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) is an international NGO, independent and not for profit, which promotes environmentally appropriate, socially beneficial, and economically viable management of the forests. It includes, among its members, social and environmental groups, indigenous communities, forest owners, industries that work and trade wood, scientists and engineers working together to improve the management of forests all over the world.
